The aim of the ‘Darwin, the original’ exhibition produced in cooperation with the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle is to explore the often misinterpreted ideas of Charles Darwin and explain the scientist’s approach and the concepts on which he based his theory of evolution. The exhibition’s interactive, immersive tour looks back over the life of this legendary figure, guides us through the development of his ideas and provides an understanding of his brilliant, revolutionary work.
It also examines the historical background of Darwin’s day and how his ideas were received in a society where science was starting to free itself of religion.
Finally, it throws light on current developments in evolutionary science and shows how they fit in with the programme outlined by Darwin.
