Market mechanisms and off-market exchanges
When billions of individuals choose their purchases, lifestyle and profession, how do these choices combine? This second sequence in the exhibition is dedicated to the examination of on- and off-market exchanges and the systems of rules needed to make them function.
You will focus on concrete and often familiar economic cases such as the labour market, the domestic economy and on other more obscure ones such as the capital market and the role of the state.
Here you will experiment with simplified exchange procedures and participate in simulations. The aim is to make the forces which structure the economy and give it a certain equilibrium both concrete and tangible to the visitor.
